18396 Cassiterite,
Dk Orange, 7.10 cts oval cut measuring 10.1x7.6x6.0 mm, eye clean, from Brazil. We saw this exceptional cassiterite in Tucson and acquired it out of our passion for this species. It displays a deep orange color in a well cut oval that is eye clean.

18419 Cassiterite,
Dk Brown, 5.29 cts fancy square brilliant cut measuring 7.6x7.4x5.6 mm, v lt incl, from Bolivia. Bolivia is well known for its tin deposits of which cassiterite is an ore. This is a well cut gem from this classic location.

18395 Cobaltian Calcite,
Md Pink, 1.44 cts oval cut measuring 8.5x6.7x4.3 mm, v lt incl, from Morocco. A rich pink gem with characteristic haze. We hope to see some rough of this material during our visit to Morocco next month.

18397 Diaspore,
Md Golden Brown, 1.63 cts cushion cut measuring 7.9x5.8x4.0 mm, eye clean, from Turkey. We received a lot of inquiries about our diaspore concerning the strength of color change. We have only seen one such gem in our history that displayed a color change anywhere near what the promoters indicate. At best is picks up a greenish overtone in daylight with a slight pinkish overtone under incandescent light. Still a rare gem worthy of any collection.

Priced at $20/carat or $65.60/pair of gems
18413 Labradorite,
Lt Golden Yellow, 2.03 cts emerald brilliant cut measuring 9.6x6.3x5.0 mm, eye clean, from Clear Lake, Utah. This gem is most noted for its location. Sunstone Knolls located south of Deseret, Utah produce gem grade labradorite but mostly in very small sizes. It takes a lot of searching to find a piece of rough that will cut out at over two carats. Priced at $25/carat or $50.75/gem
18398 Prehnite,
Md Yellow, 2.37 cts oval cut measuring 11.2x6.7x5.2 mm, semi-transparent, from Australia. Prehnites are interesting gems in that they are faceted from massive and not crystalline rough which results in the haziness of the gem. They are still one of the yellowest gem you will find anywhere.
Priced at $30/carat or $71.10/gem
18399 Rhodonite,
Md Intense Reddish Orange, 1.12 cts oval cut measuring 7.2x5.4x3.2 mm, lt incl, from Brazil. This gem displays a very intense reddish orange color and fine brilliance for rhodonites which are usually very included.

18403 Staurolite,
Dk Orangish Brown, 2.31 cts emerald cut measuring 13.9x5.2x3.5 mm, lt incl, from Brazil. We have collected opaque staurolite at several locations in the US but have never seen even one close to translucent let alone transparent enough to facet. This is a very rare, faceted, transparent staurolite from the only location we are aware of that produces facet grade rough.
Priced at $200/carat or $462.00/gem
18405 Triphylite,
Dk Reddish Brown, 4.31 cts fancy fan cut measuring 11.2x9.8x6.5 mm, v lt incl, from Brazil. A nice size for a triphylite that was surely cut to save as much weight from very scarce rough material.

17892 Anglesite,s
Lt Yellow, 7.02 cts split sided brilliant cut measuring 14.3x7.2x4.7 mm, v lt incl, from Touissit, Morocco. Anglesite is extremely difficult to facet. It is both brittle and heat sensitive making not only the cutting process difficult but also the cleaning and dopping. We once heard of an anglesite cracking once it had been cut when the acetone that was evaporating off its surface heat shocked it.
Priced at $100/carat or $702.00/gem
